Catering to Venus is Boise's best no-holds barred, original rock and roll band. Whether it's the manic "Tide," the soft and touching "India" or the fun, upbeat "Airplane," Catering to Venus has something for everyone. A throwback to the old days when rock bands ran their audience through a gambit of emotions, Catering to Venus delivers nothing less. Coupled with straight-up rock and roll, the show is a memorable one. From onstage jokes and hijinx, rowdy fans getting into it or random acts of artistic depravity, people always walk away entertained and talking.
Started in the winter of 2002, they played their first show just a month later on December 31, 2002. Since then, they have played numerous shows, written several songs, released a three-song demo and recorded the upcoming full-length album "Temper Tantrums" (working title). Catering to Venus has played shows with such national bands as Caustic Resin, Tin Tin, John Wilks Booze and Echo Cast as well as many local favorites such as Midline, Bovalexia, The Invasion and Abrupt Edge. Catering to Venus has also played such local events as Rock The Mountain (2004), Looserpalooza (2003 & 2004), Mama Jam (2004 & 2005) and venues from house parties to Neurolux and The Bouquet.
