Blackz, born Zulan O'brien Murray, is an undeniable upcoming artist. His innovative talent have had others refering to him as "the reggae rudebwoy". The 6th of Eleven children (eight girls and three boys) and his farther's only son, Zulan "Blackz" Murray was born in Portland Jamaica. Shortly after his birth, "Blackz", and his family moved to the Montego Bay area.

As a youngster, he attended the city's well known music festivals and concerts such as "Reggae Sunsplash" where he grew and admired the talents of some of the country's well known reggae artists.

Blackz migrated to the United States at age 11 thinking that reggae music would disappear from his life. However, after he was settled in, he continued to quench the thirst for some real reggae music. Wherever he heard reggae music, he wanted to be there. His love for reggae music have pushed him to do some performances of his own.

Now 18, Blackz signed his first recording contract with Kingston Capitol Recordz/Azar Entertainment Records aftering being introduced by a friend who is now his manager. Blackz is currently working on his first album. He is already said to be one of the years most talked about reggae artist.
